Join us for an exciting week-long computer science PD!
As a participant, you will have the opportunity to choose a CS workshop that best aligns to your professional learning goals. Along with these workshop sessions, there will be whole group events for registered participants to connect with other educators and individuals working to expanding computer science education across the state.

Cost: $50 (Note: Limited Travel Scholarships will be available to educators not local to the Twin Cities)
2024 Empower {MN:CS} Workshops
Empower {MN:CS} is excited to offer a variety of hands-on workshops designed to empower educators with the skills and resources to teach computer science confidently! You can learn more about this year's PD workshops here.
K8 Integrated Computer Science
WHO: Any K8 educator who is new or newer to teaching computer science.
Scratch Encore
WHO: 4th - 8th grade educators who have experience with programming.
2024 EmpowerUp Sessions
The EmpowerUp sessions will happen each day of the conference and cover different CS education topics and opportunities. This year, we have three sessions scheduled for the conference. You can learn more about these sessions below:
Unleash the Power of Computer Science: This session will focus on expanding equitable and sustainable access to K-12 computer science (CS) education in Minnesota, including updates from the CS Working Group regarding the state strategic plan, an overview of key recommendations, and proposed timelines to advance CS education across the state.
CS Playground: This networking session will allow for participants of Empower {MN:CS} to connect with different organizations across the state working to expand access to computer science and STEM across the state. Check out the list of participating organizations here.
Fireside Chat: In this panel discussion, panelists will share their unique stories and experiences and dive into their journey in computer science, how educators have played a role, and different college and career pathways for students in computer science.

Note: Participants will sign up for one workshop for the entire 3-day conference. Each day, all registered participants of the conference will gather for an EmpowerUp session.
